OUR PROGRAM FACTS · Started by the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, the program first began in the 93-94 school year serving 300 students; with a thirteen year history of success, CIS now serves more than 2,700 students each year with ongoing, intensive services – both individual and group intervention, as well as services to families in their homes. · The only program of its kind in the counties served, with CIS staff located directly in the schools, working hand-in-hand with school administrators and teachers to provide a myriad of needed services with the goal of helping all children be successful in school. · CIS meets significant needs of at-risk students and those in crisis situations in partnership with school faculty and administrators and in collaboration with other local nonprofit organizations. · Supported in significant part by state legislative funds so that our local communities can benefit from this program and pay less than half the total cost to have it for their students and families. · CIS collaborates with more than 100 local businesses and organizations to maximize the services to students and families and to avoid duplication of services being provided.
